Project Summary
Salvation Army was given a tight deadline to update all of their 63 sites (main, subsites, location sites) from PHP 7.4 to PHP 8.0 as 7.4 was going to be shelved in less than a month and a half. I was tasked with being the project manager to make sure the project stayed on schedule and solve any issues that arose.
As project manager, I was tasked with creating a schedule to ensure each location site was aware that there site would be under maintenance. Each site was to be given a blackout period where they would either stop updating content or write down what was updated. This was so after the switch from the staging site to the live site was complete, each location was aware of any items that needed to be re-uploaded.
I led both the development team & Salvation Army team to ensure that the project was completed within a month and was ahead of schedule (October 4th - October 28th). There was a few hiccups along the way but these were dealt with in a timely manner with fast and effective communication and time solving skills (Site crash, reCAPTCHA error among 4 sites, WooCommerce outdated plugin).
